NextGen – Preparing for Leadership
In this Legacy Series panel discussion, Chris Meyer, Partner at Parkwood Business Properties; Jessica McIntosh, Regional Operations Manager at Beacon Waterproofing (Atlas Supply); and Ross Treleven, CEO & President of Sprague Pest Control, will reflect on their transition from rising next-generation members to key decision-makers in their family businesses. Having started this journey together 15 years ago, the panel will share the challenges they once expected to be the hardest but proved manageable, as well as the unforeseen complexities of leadership, ownership, and family dynamics that now carry greater weight.
This discussion will provide a firsthand look at the realities of stepping into leadership—what prepared them, what didn’t, and the pressures that come with running a family business. The panel will also examine the evolving challenges facing their generation, how they are navigating transitions with their parents, and their perspectives on preparing the next generation for leadership. Throughout the conversation, they will explore the role of peer support in tackling critical decisions, reflect on lessons learned along the way, and share valuable insights for those looking to take the next step in their own family business.
We invite family business owners and operators to join us in-person or via Zoom.
